Another busy weekend gone and some more news....

Over the weekend I competed in the Nottingham Euro-Cup event which gave me the chance to meet up with some friends from abroad and compete in a really cool event. With the new variety only scoring system being used, I had to try and get my head around how to get the best runs possible which was pretty tough.

In the OC1 event (my first since the Worlds) I got on pretty well placing 2nd overall behind Jordi Domenjo from Spain. Jordi and I have competed against each other loads of times now but I still haven't quite managed to beat him although it was pretty close this time!! The Looping Pool at Nottingham is a good hole for OC1s with moves such as cartwheels and cleans being thrown down and even the odd entry move.

In the C1 event I also did pretty well coming in a solid 5th beating some of the top names in the sport in the process. Stu Morris went on to take the win with some awesome rides followed by Ralph Rudiduli from Switzerland and Ollie Castle from the UK.

It was a great event and I would like to thank Pete Astles from Peak UK for the great organisation.

It's been a while since I updated the site I know but things have been a bit hectic round here.

Over the weekend of the 7-8 May I competed at the Peak UK Challenge at the Washburn in Yorkshire, UK. This event is always a nice one to go to because of the fact that the river is in a valley in the middle of nowhere and the scenery is fantastic. It was a shame therefore that the weather wasn't so nice, we had the lot. You name it: Rain, hail, wind, sun, monsoon!!!

Anyway, the event was great. I took both my C1s up with me (but no OC1 due to the fact I broke my van). I took a while to decide whether to go for the extra length of the Sub Seven-0 or go for the short freestyle ability of the S6X. In the end I went for the Seven-0 and I think it was a real success. this boat is the perfect Peak Challenge boat, it's fast in a straight line and manoeuvrable - which is perfect for the downriver and the slalom - and is more than playful enough for the freestyle.

I managed to get the fastest time by far in the slalom but unfortunately three penalties meant that I had to settle for 3rd. In the downriver, the Seven-0 shone and I was seriously impressed with it's straight line speed which helped me come in 2nd. In the freestyle, the competition was fierce as ever between Ollie Castle and myself. Ollie was going huge pulling off Phonix Monkeys and loops, which I just couldn't live up to in a slightly longer boat in a small shallow hole. In the end I managed to clean it up with both left and right super cleans to at least give Ollie a run for his money and come in 2nd. This gave me 2nd overall.

Thanks to Tim Saddler from Pyranha and Gary Chambers from Soulboater for giving me somewhere dry to hide in the rain and to everyone from Peak UK for another great event.

Well for those of you that don't know, I have recently returned from an Easter trip to Lyon to go and play on Hawaii Sur Rhone. I'd never been before and it was certainly a lot to get used to so I was really glad to have had six days there!!

I got a chance to work on my wave moves on one of if not the best feature I have ever paddled on and loved every minute of it. I have put the pictures that I took, up on my nice new look gallery. Thanks to Ollie Castle for sorting that out for me.

Hopefully I will get some of my worlds photos up soon, some of which you will have seen in the April issue of Canoe and Kayak UK.

The weekend is over and boy what a busy one it has been with the Outdoor Show in the Birmingham NEC. I was helping out on the Soulboater stand helping to sell their high quality goods as well as promoting the new Park N Play Productions C1 DVDs that Ollie Castle and I are currently working on. Go to Park N Play Productions for a mini teaser and to register any interest so we can keep you informed.

I was also competing in the Peak UK Wavebox invitational. It was one of my best performances ever and I managed to finally beat Stu Morris in a head to head knockout to win. I have been working on my Tricky Whus recently and they sure paid off.
